Esgic Directions:
Always follow doctor`s directions when taking Esgic. Esgic should not be exposed to sunlight or moisture. Make sure it`s not accessible to children. Do not try to make up missed Esgic doses. If you unintentionally miss a pill, skip it and go on with your usual schedule.
Esgic Side Effects:
The prescription Esgic may cause mild side effects like lightheadedness, dizziness, drowsiness, or nausea. They should fade, but if they persist, or if you have any other side effects, talk to your doctor about them.
Esgic Warnings:
Do not use more Esgic than has been prescribed, or take it for longer. Esgic may become habit forming. Do not consume alcohol while you take this drug, because it can lead to increased depressant effects. Be careful about driving or operating heavy machinery while using this medication, especially if you don`t know how you respond to this drug. Esgic can alter your ability to do these tasks, especially when mixed with other drugs or with alcohol. Esgic has acetaminophen in it. You should not take any other products, which also contain acetaminophen. Overdosing on acetaminophen can lead to liver problems. Your pharmacist can help you determine which other products contain acetaminophen. Consult with your doctor about using Esgic if you regularly drink alcohol. This combination can cause liver failure. Esgic will be most effective at relieving pain if you take it at the first sign of pain rather than waiting until the pain gets worse. Your doctor should know about all other medicine and over the counter products you are using. Women using Esgic should know that it can make birth control pills less effective. Always use a backup method of birth control to avoid pregnancy. Talk to your doctor about safe Esgic usage if you want to become pregnant. Breastfeeding women should not use Esgic, since this drug is excreted in breast milk.
Esgic Drug Interactions:
Do not take esgic if you have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) such as isocarboxazid (Marplan), phenelzine (Nardil), or tranylcypromine (Parnate) in the last 14 days. Dangerous side effects could result. Acetaminophen and Esgic may increase the effects of other drugs that cause drowsiness, including antidepressants, alcohol, antihistamines, sedatives (used to treat insomnia), other pain relievers, anxiety medicines, and muscle relaxants. Tell your doctor about all medicines that you are taking, and do not take any medicine unless your doctor approves. Many other medicines contain acetaminophen, especially over-the-counter pain, fever, cold, and allergy medications. Too much acetaminophen can be very dangerous.
Esgic Missed Dose:
If you miss a schedule Esgic dose, do not try to make it up. Simply skip that dose and resume your usual schedule.
Esgic Storage:
Store Esgic out of the reach of children. It should be kept in a cool, dark place.
